Biospecimen Research Coordinator

Alexa Plisiewicz is a Biospecimen Research Coordinator responsible for managing biospecimen samples for the Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) at CHOP along with samples received from external sites. Additionally, Alexa assists with incoming specimen and data requests. Other than CBTN, she is involved with Gift from a Child and NF2.
Alexa has previously worked as a summer camp counselor for children with chronic illnesses at Double H Ranch, Camp Discovery Nursing assistant at Geisinger Medical Center on medical surgical floor, Undergraduate research assistant at Penn State (The Medina Lab and The PRO Health Lab), and a volunteer for THON at Penn State.
Her time spent working with children battling chronic illnesses has drove her to pursue a career dedicated to positively impacting these children’s lives with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
