Avital Kelman is a Data Engineer responsible for working on the data pipeline software for the Kids First Data Resource Center to build tools to help integrate large amounts of genomic and clinical data from participant studies and boost pediatric research collaboration and engagement.
Prior to starting at CHOP in April 2018, Avital worked in underwater robotics, AUV collaborative autonomy, and intelligent data systems for decision guidance and outcome prediction. He is also a FLOSS developer and advocate, and is happy to be at an organization that also values free software principles.
Avital earned a BS in Computer Science from Beloit College in Wisconsin before completing an MS in Computer Science (Computer Vision) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
