Ariana Familiar, PhD, is a Supervisory Data Scientist & Imaging Platform Lead specializing in scalable cloud technology, big data, and translational research. Her work centers on pediatric brain tumors, where she develops cloud-native platforms and workflows that integrate imaging, genomic, and clinical data to enable large-scale, multi-institutional research and clinical trials. 

At D3b and through international collaborations, Ariana is leading efforts to standardize and scale imaging and multi-modal workflows across pediatric healthcare sites, leveraging cloud computing to make large-scale biomedical research reproducible and accessible. Ariana also conducts translational research leveraging predictive analytics to build clinically relevant methods with the goal of advancing the evaluation and treatment of brain tumors.

Prior to joining CHOP in 2020, Ariana completed her graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where she developed a passion for applying big data and AI approaches to real-world scientific and medical challenges.

Ariana holds a BA in Psychology & Philosophy from New York University and an MA and a PhD in Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience) from the University of Pennsylvania. She is dedicated to building scalable research infrastructure that advances discovery and improves outcomes for children with brain tumors.
