Bioinformatics Engineer

Bo Zhang is a Bioinformatics Engineer responsible for several Center initiatives, including The Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) and Cavatica. His responsibilities include monitoring and assessing data quality, variant prioritization, data modeling, and statistical analysis. He identifies, ports/develops, maintains and makes accessible all bioinformatics software on Unix/Linux platforms. He also analyzes user requirements and determines software, hardware and data management needs.
Prior to joining CHOP in August of 2015, Bo worked at the Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI-China) as a bioinformatician.
Bo earned a BS degree from Beijing JiaoTong University in Beijing, China. He is committed to maintaining the pipeline and software functionality of the Cavatica platform and helping others to solve bioinformatics problems.
