Biospecimen Research Coordinator
Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine
Noel Coleman is a Biospecimen Research Coordinator responsible for shared genetics of underlying pediatric congenital craniofacial pathologies, cerebrovascular biobanking for genetic research, and assisting the Pario Group with congenital birth defect biobanking for genetic research. She manages the shipping and receiving of samples related to these studies, along with entering and accessioning samples in CBTN’s laboratory information (sample) management system, Nautilus. Noel also updates the databases used in these studies with new and relevant information.
Prior to joining D3b in May of 2021, Noel previously worked as a QA micro lab technician at Barry Callebaut. There she tested chocolate and its components for microorganisms to ensure it was safe for consumption, including large-scale tests for Salmonella, E. coli, and Enterobacter.
Noel completed a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Delaware. She is committed to living her best life and helping people, making a contribution and knowing she made a difference to someone. She is inspired by the quote from Sir Ken Robinson, “What you do for yourself dies with you when you leave this world, what you do for others lives on forever.” Noel is grateful to be part of a group that is dedicated to saving lives and making the world a better place.
