Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine

Chris Friedman is a Data Integration Analyst responsible for 1) helping users when they encounter problems with or have questions about using the Kids First Data Resource Portal and 2) helping to streamline the work that goes on behind the scenes to help shepherd data from scientists collecting the data onto the portal.

Prior to joining CHOP in December of 2019, Chris studied psychology with a focus in cognitive neuroscience. Through his technical work in that field, he found an interest in working with data. After graduating, he joined the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute as a data analyst, writing data management and analysis pipelines to shepherd data from collection through to analysis. At the Institute, Chris worked in a small research group that studied the teams and organizations that work with and support children, teens, young adults, and adults with autism.

Chris completed a BS in Psychology with dual minors in Philosophy; Bioscience and Society from Drexel University. He is passionate about working with data, using it to help solve problems and improve the lives of people that need the most help. He is committed to the D3b Center’s mission of accelerating research through the innovative use of data, which deeply aligns with his own goals to positively impact the world.
