Ashley Gehrand is a Preclinical Models Project Manager responsible for the management of D3b’s lab-based projects and pre-clinical model requests, which includes the Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) cell line requests, and organoids and patient-derived xenograph (PDX) models. Ashley works closely with the pre-clinical laboratory research unit team to ensure new and ongoing project goals are met.

Prior to joining CHOP in November 2022, Ashley spent 15 years in a variety of preclinical and basic science labs in research roles that involved projects encompassing the molecular characterization of genetic blood disorders and animal models studying the apnea of human prematurity. She also has a strong interest in teaching and held a role as Adjunct Faculty in the department of Biology at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI where she taught laboratory methods in cell, molecular, and microbiology.

Ashley earned a BS in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, before completing an MS in Molecular Biology – both from University of Wisconsin – Parkside.
