Shipping Specialist

Herbert Manarang is a Shipping Specialist responsible for managing the shipments of specimen samples and supplies to sites and end users and ensuring shipping protocols and documentations meet required 49CFR/IATA regulatory requirements. He also records and tracks all shipments, troubleshoots shipping delays or changes, develops contingency plans for handling and delivery operations and updates coordinators and/or customers accordingly. In addition, Herbert evaluates carrier performance and rates and makes comparative analysis, oversees inventory control, deliveries, maintaining inventory records and ordering supplies based on the projected supplies requirements.
Prior to joining CHOP in October of 2016, Herbert has had extensive shipping experiences in biotech (WuxiApptec-2 years), pharmaceutical distribution(Bilcare-2 years), manufacturing/distribution (Urban Outfitters-5 years) and Frigidaire International Philippines (RII)(Import/Export Controller-10 years).
Herbert earned a BA in Political Science from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He is committed to be able to maintain and further improve a seamless shipping procedure that will benefit the collaborators/researchers in general and the sick children in particular, in their quest for the elusive cure.
