Bhavyasri Vunnava, MBBS

Research Fellow

Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine

Dr. Bhavyasri Vunnava is a Research Fellow responsible for translational imaging research focused on pediatric brain tumors. She has expertise in MR image segmentation, pixel-based multimodal correlation, and the integration of imaging data with tissue-based analysis. She is currently working on deep learning–based tumor localization using neural networks for automated segmentation, region-specific localization, and risk stratification in pediatric brain MRI. Her work involves applying and optimizing deep learning methods, incorporating transfer learning strategies to improve model generalizability, and using radiomic and radiogenomic analysis to support molecular and immune subgroup prediction in pediatric gliomas.

Her research aims to advance non-invasive imaging biomarkers by leveraging deep learning and multi-sequence MRI to better characterize tumor biology, predict clinical outcomes, and support personalized treatment strategies in pediatric neuro-oncology.

Dr. Vunnava earned her medical degree at NTR University of Health Sciences in India. Prior to joining D³b, she worked on photon-counting CT and AI-based diagnostic device research
