Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine

Amanda Warkow is a Data Integration Analyst responsible for investigating and analyzing clinical data for the Gabriella Miller Kids First Data Resource Center. Her team collaborates with biomedical researchers to review their data, identify potential concerns and transform the data into operational research datasets.

Prior to joining the D3b Center in August of 2022, Amanda participated in clinical research projects involving large datasets, herself a former medical student. While at the University of Michigan, she developed data extraction protocols and conducted a preliminary data analysis for a study on maternal mortality. Amanda also contributed to a Penn Medicine project studying the relationship between total joint arthroplasty and obesity, diabetes, and depression. The study was eventually published in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Orthopedics. While attending Drexel, she completed a co-op with Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which provides discounted internet to low-income families. At Comcast, Amanda developed programming solutions to expedite the application process and analyzed large datasets to understand customer behavior.

Amanda completed a BS in Computer Science from Drexel University. She is committed to using her technical skills to make a positive impact on the world and hopes to achieve this by making data more accessible and using data analysis to reveal solutions and improve outcomes. The D3b Center’s mission aligns with her own commitment to have a meaningful influence on society through collaborative, data-driven science.
