Technical Project Manager
Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine
Eric Wenger is a Technical Project Manager, responsible for ensuring that ongoing project goals are met by working with data analysts and engineers developing applications and tools for biomedical data. He supports the efforts of exceptional individuals and groups involved with the Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE), Kid’s First and D3b initiatives, developing roadmaps and requirements and working closely with internal and external project management and technical teams to ensure quality design, implementation, and timely delivery.
Prior to joining the D3b Center in January of 2021, Eric worked as Data Analytics Manager in the animal health space, concurrently performing there a combination of functional, technical, project and program management roles. In this work he continued to learn, also leveraging past hands-on development, vendor, contract, business systems analysis and project management experience from multiple industries (refining, media, education), while managing distributed, multi-functional teams in infrastructure, software, database and process improvement projects.
Eric earned BPhil and MA degrees from the University of Pittsburgh before completing his MS in Information Systems at Drexel University and obtaining his PMP® certification from the Project Management Institute. He sees the diversity of project and operational teams—invaluable individuals and organizations, collaborating with their unique abilities and strengths—as an awesome embodiment of the truth that we are stronger together. With this passion for collaboration, Eric is committed to making a difference, supporting team project success in realizing the D3b Center’s vision of finding breakthroughs for every child, everywhere, every time.
