Bioinformatics Engineer
Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine
Jessica Wong is a Bioinformatics Engineer who contributes to data harmonization and pipeline development for genomics data. Her PhD research focused on the development/evaluation of computational methods for analyzing complex regions with in the human genome in different populations, with a focus on the integration of optical mapping and sequencing technologies.
Jessica rejoined the D3b Center in November of 2023, after a prior internship at CHOP’s Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics (DBHi) which focused on pipeline development and data analysis of neuroblastoma. She also completed an internship at D3b which focused on pipeline/tool development.
Jessica earned a BS in Biology and a PSM in Bioinformatics from Temple University, prior to completing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University. She is extremely fulfilled by contributing to pediatric research, to be involved in groundbreaking studies, and to contribute to medical advancements that can change the standard of care for children globally.
